Wellbeing
Having fun and making new friends while engaging in physical, creative, and educational activities can be incredibly beneficial for children’s physical and mental health. At Bowerbirdy Academy, year after year, we’ve seen firsthand how these positive effects can improve the wellbeing of young people.
Our activities, from Adventure Play to Stage School, are all about imagination and creativity. By encouraging children to be imaginative and try new things, we foster their cognitive and social development. This helps them to develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities, while also boosting their confidence and emotional wellbeing.
So why not join us at Bowerbirdy Academy and give your child the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, and develop valuable skills that will benefit them for years to come?

Wellbeing
At Bowerbirdy, we’re proud to have helped many 16-21 year olds gain work experience in the towns where we run our activities. Our managers, team leaders, and team members are all recruited from within your council’s catchment area, and all receive high-level training – providing skills and experience they can take to future roles.
We also work closely with the Arts Council and National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) to help students prepare for the coming years, and support young volunteers on their journey into leadership and coaching.
T-SHIRT & STICKERS
We want every child to feel welcome at Bowerbirdy Acadamy, and excited about joining our activities. That’s why we give each child aged 5 to 11 their very own branded t-shirt when they attend an activity for the first time – it’s our way of saying “welcome to the team!”
And that’s not all – at the end of each session, we give every child a brand new sticker to show off their hard work and participation. We believe that this continual engagement and recognition helps to keep kids enthusiastic and gives them a sense of achievement that they can be proud of.
Our Trainers
Health
and
Wellbeing
The safety and wellbeing of all attendees is our top priority at Bowerbirdy Academy. That’s why all of our team members are enhanced DBS checked and safeguarding trained, ensuring that all children in safe hands.
Our team leaders and managers go the extra mile – they’re First Aid and Safeguarding trained, with at least one member of each team also trained in SEND. This means that we can provide a supportive and inclusive environment for all children.
But we’re not just about physical safety – we also want to support children’s mental and emotional wellbeing. That’s why our team leaders are mental health first aid trained, and can help identify any early signs of mental health problems. We also use PBS (Positive Behavioural Support) to foster learning and education, helping to provide a positive influence and strong role models for all children and young people.
HEALTH & SAFETY
We believe that safety doesn’t have to mean sacrificing fun – we’re all about creating a playful and enjoyable atmosphere where every child has the chance to learn and grow.
If you want to get a closer look at how we do things, we’re happy to give you access to our online health and safety software. This way, you can check out all of our policies and job roles, see how we update our risk assessments, and get a sense of how we measure risk based on job roles and equipment.
Bowerbirdy staff use our own bespoke Health and Safety software – not just for H&S matters, but for training and management tasks and actions. Staff login daily, and will be reminded of checklists they must execute for their shift.
Events Analysis
We use data to make sure that your events are tailored to your area and the people who live there. We take a close look at the demographics of your community and use that information to plan activities that are right for you.
Our team will put together a comprehensive report that shows how we’re doing. We measure our success by collecting data from a variety of sources, like registration and feedback forms from parents, our own records on attendees, and website and social media statistics. This way, we can see what’s working and what might need a little bit of tweaking, so we can keep improving and making your events even better.
