At Bowerbirdy Academy, we’re passionate about creating experiences that inspire, educate, and support children, young people, and families. But don’t just take our word for it! The real impact of what we do is best told by the people who have been part of our journey – parents, councils, and organisations that have seen first-hand how our programmes help children thrive.
Here are some of their stories.

Helping Children Build Confidence and Friendships
Parents want their children to feel happy, safe, and engaged in activities that help them grow. Many families have shared how Bowerbirdy Academy has provided that space for their children.
“My son and daughter have been attending Bowerbirdy Academy activities for the past few years, and they absolutely love it! The staff are friendly, caring, and ensure all children have a great time, so I feel confident leaving them in their care. My kids are always excited to attend, and the fact that it’s free is a huge bonus. I love that they can interact with other children, stay active, and use their imaginations. The activities cater to both my 10 and 5-year-old, which is hard to find. The team is amazing—so patient and engaging. I highly recommend these activities and tell all my friends and family. Bowerbirdy truly nurtures the next generation, helping them build skills and confidence while having fun!”

“My children have had the best experience with Bowerbirdy Academy and built up lots of confidence. This is fantastic and made the summer holidays less stressful. All staff are super friendly and have an amazing caring nature. Thank you for the fun and look forward to more adventures with you.”
It’s not just about entertainment; it’s about creating an environment where children feel valued and supported. Many parents have seen their children return time and time again, eager to take part.
“My son is 7 and has been attending Bowerbirdy events since turning 5. He has thoroughly enjoyed them all! The activities have been fun, energetic, and diverse. The team are engaging, kind, and full of imaginative ways to make children happy. They have the ability to make every child feel welcome, part of the group, and cared for. They create a very positive rapport, and children such as my son return time and time again. He can’t wait for the events to come back! A very big thank you to everyone involved.”
A Lifeline for Families
We know how important it is for parents to have a safe and reliable place where their children can have fun and learn. One of the things families love about Bowerbirdy Academy is the balance between structured activities and free play, giving kids the chance to explore while also learning valuable skills.
“My 5-year-old twins were happy and entertained for a two-week period by a very professional team that was engaging and responsive towards both the children and parents. The fact that you can leave them for 2 hours is great, and best of all, it’s free! I stayed one morning and was able to appreciate a mixed-age group with different skill levels. The session was so well managed that everything flowed beautifully. I think we are very privileged to have so many wonderful activities.”
“My girls attended lots of the sessions over the summer and absolutely loved it! In fact, our days ended up revolving around the sessions! We miss you all lots and are counting the days down to Easter!”

Partnering with Councils to Support Local Communities
It’s not just families who have recognised the value of our work. Local councils and organisations have praised the way we engage with children and young people, particularly those who might not always have access to such opportunities.
“Bowerbirdy Academy consistently strives to offer more and to drive attendance, particularly among the harder-to-reach age groups. They are highly flexible, always willing to adjust and evolve their programmes to ensure the best possible provision for the community. A major factor in their success is the extra value they deliver beyond what is expected, such as high-quality promotional efforts, including a dedicated website, graphic design, school visits, flyers, and free branded items like T-shirts and sticker books for attendees. These additional touches, combined with their talented and diverse staff, provide exceptional value and enhance the overall experience for both children and their families.”
– Paul Banks, Watford Council
“Bowerbirdy Academy has made targeting and attracting the hard-to-reach teenage market look effortless. The level of engagement they managed to achieve with the teens was exceptional, with many returning day after day, eager for more. What really sets them apart is the outstanding content they created and shared after the events, which stands out from over 18 other providers we work with. The feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive and perfectly reflects why we invest in these activities. Bowerbirdy truly exceeded our expectations, and we’re grateful for their incredible work in our community.”
– FSM Programme, Central Beds Council
“We cannot thank Bowerbirdy Academy enough for the incredible impact it has had on our community. The programme has not only created a strong community atmosphere but has also successfully bridged the gap by engaging all age groups within Bishop’s Cleeve. Watching the programme grow year on year, and receiving such positive feedback from families, has been a joy. This initiative has truly helped our town’s children and young people flourish, providing them with fun, creative, and educational experiences that will benefit them for years to come. Thank you, Bowerbirdy, for being a valuable part of our community.”
– Bishop’s Cleeve Council
